Personal Project: It’s the small things

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am. -Author Unknown

Gracie and Sylvie are always so patiently waiting for us to come back inside and be with them. What wonderful creatures who are always here to love and be loved. Gotta love dogs!

Enjoy,

Samantha

beauty in the winter.

Personal Project: It’s the small things

Last Monday we had our second significant snow for Fayetteville and the whole town shut down like I said in an earlier picture of the day. Mike had Monday and Tuesday off and a late start on Wednesday (not to mention Friday off for MLK day), a short work week to say the least. So we were confined to the house because on Monday night we had a snow/sleet mixture and there was no way we were driving around on those ice rink roads. Cabin fever was beginning to set in and we went out to play in the snow only  the one time as Dean is too young to appreciate and romp around in the snow. The trees in our backyard looked just gorgeous encased in ice and Mike suggested they would make for a good photograph.  I agreed and took some photos below of those winter trees.

Even when it’s cold and you’re trapped inside you can still find beauty in the winter…

Now everything is melting as we are back to normal temps of 50 degrees for this week!

Wherever you are…enjoy the sunshine or stay warm, Samantha

Yoga Saturday.

Personal Project: It’s the small things

Last Saturday Dean and I took our first Little Yogi’s class together. This photo is from last Saturday of the little happy guy at baby Yoga. He met new friends (2 boy and 2 girls including Dean in class). He worked on his plank and coordination while Mom worked on her core and squats with a 20 pounds of baby love in my arms! Let’s just say I was sore for days after this so hopefully it won’t be as bad after today’s class. Then we had meditation at the end to relax and overall it was a great way to engage/bond with your baby. If you are in the Fayetteville area and would be interested in this class, please visit www.embraceyogastudio.com. They have Little Yogi’s 1,2 and 3 for all different ages.

50 degrees today here in the lovely Fayetteville!

Enjoy the sunshine and your Saturday, Samantha
I liked both versions of the photo. So here they both are!

Good morning sunshine!

Personal Project: It’s the small things

Dean sleeps in his crib through the night and then comes into our bed in the morning after Mike leaves for work. He sleeps with Mommy for however long his morning nap goes and he always wakes up with the sweetest smile on his face. This is my favorite time of day, peaceful and fresh, when the day is just getting started. I wanted to share this smile with you.

Good Friday morning to you!

Enjoy your day and all the sweet things in it, Samantha

some Sylvia love.

Personal Project: It’s the small things

If we didn’t love our big white (tons of fur) dog, Sylvia, she would be an outside dog! She is a Great Pyrenees/Lab Mix so you can imagine the fur she produces…my Grandma bought us this sign when she was down visiting a couple years ago. I love it because it’s the truth. You won’t catch me in a black dressy coat anytime soon, I buy my coats based on how much Sylvia’s hair might stick to it. Like I said we love her A LOT! She’s worth all that fuss.

Enjoy your Thursday, Samantha

How could you resist this sweet face?!?

Personal Project update.

Posted on January 11, 2011

Hello everyone!

Due to 2 consecutive snow days stuck inside in lovely North Carolina, I have been thinking about my personal project and decided to continue with daily photos until the end of January.

I will be traveling in Feb. and March (May, July & September) and will miss those days anyhow. What I am going to do instead is still continue to take daily photos and post them on my blog/facebook as I decide they are interesting/inspiring/worthy. So there may be 5 photos a month or 25. This takes the pressure off because with life, Dean and other photo sessions coming up this Spring…I just don’t want to let you down!

Anyhow, I have learned a lot already about my creative vision (sounds cheesy but true!) and photoshop (lightroom) etc. I feel like the winter months can sometimes leave you in creative rut but this has made me very motivated & ready for 2011! The personal project will still continue…just a little more flexible for my ever-changing Army/Mommy life.

It’s cold, I am going to have some tea now! You do the same.

Enjoy your Tuesday, Samantha
