Mike’s first Father’s Day: June 2010 (Dean was about 10 days old here)

Happy Father’s Day to all Father’s, Grandfather’s, Great Grandfathers and of course dog Father’s too! There are so many wonderful examples out there of awesome Father’s who just love & adore their children! I am in awe of what a natural and loving father my husband has become over this last year. These photos were taken June 2010 on last year’s Father’s Day! His first Father’s Day will forever be frozen in my mind as the beginning of a whole new life!

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been to plenty of weddings in my day and this one really stood out to me. I kept thinking to myself throughout the wedding, you can really see and feel the love, it was palpable. I am always secretly shedding some tears behind the lens during all weddings but this one was amazing! Every detail was planned out to the T, in a world of cookie cutter weddings, this unique & thoughtful wedding was a breath of fresh air. From the setting at Madden’s resort in Brainerd, Minnesota where guests could stay all weekend long, to the hand-made welcome bags, the ceremony and all of the love felt from the bride and groom as well as their families was truly inspiring. Enough of my thoughts on this beautiful wedding, on to the photo preview!

This is Andrew and Jack. I met this family years ago when I nannied Andrew as a baby. I have been taking photos for Andrew since 2005 and over the years he has changed so much, personality wise and height wise primarily. I told his mom during the photo session while taking the photo below, sometimes I get a little glimpse of the baby I used to photograph. And then it’s quickly replaced with him walking and talking as a growing kid …soon to be a man at this rate! Then there’s baby Jack who is about to be one years old! My my, does time fly by… I have been reflecting a lot this week as Dean (my son) is about to turn 1 this Thursday!

Hi everyone!

I told you the second preview was coming today! I could look at these photos again and again. I love everything about them and I hope they do as well. I took their maternity photos back in 2009 when Lilah was still in her mama’s tummy. Now she is expecting a baby boy in September and I couldn’t be happier for this growing family. So good seeing everyone again and meeting Lilah finally!

Good morning!

I’ve been editing thousands and thousands of photos from my family sessions and wedding from Minnesota last week. I wanted to get this preview up as soon as I could because I love love how the photos turned out. I have another family preview that I will post this afternoon and the other couple of sessions will have to wait until this week. I was happy to photograph this family again since the last time I saw them was back in 2009 when I first started my business. Check out little Carson and his sweet blue eyes!

sidenote: I edit all photos in Adobe Lightroom and I put a twist/ play with photos (basically different coloring & editing). I will include all the “twist” photos on the disc as well as regular colored copies for printing! I think some of them with a twist are fun to print as well. Just thought I would mention that as I continue to post on the blog.
