celebrating 3 years of Samantha H. Photography!
Posted on May 6, 2012
5-5-2009 is when Samantha H. Photography began and I usually recognize this date every year. However, this year I forgot to celebrate and I blame it on my pregnant brain. I had to add a photo with the post, Dean is clearly excited about this milestone and of course his watermelon
My 2 year anniversary post can be found here.
Thanks to all my clients for keeping Samantha H. going and I am excited to see a lot of you during my July photo trip to Minnesota!
Dean goes to Sedona, Arizona.

Hello!
We wanted to take one last trip as a family of 3 (or 5 including the dog children) because once baby # 2 gets here the traveling will have to be put on pause. We went on our “baby moon” 2012 to Sedona, Arizona this was a much different trip than “baby moon” 2010 with just my husband and I to Savannah, Georgia. We brought the whole family, did a lot of hiking in the beautiful red rocks and ate some good food! I love all of the 200+ photos we took so I wanted to share some of them. I think we will treasure these photos for years to come as our family is about to grow again.
Enjoy! Samantha

one of my favorite photos from the trip. I caught Mike in a moment of true contentment. He was totally in his element hiking around and enjoying the gorgeous day!
heart-shaped suckers & a box of chocolates!
Posted on February 13, 2012
Hi everyone! Here are some of the photos of Dean enjoying his heart-shaped suckers and box of chocolates. I love how these turned out so sorry for posting so many of them. I just have too many favorites to narrow it down. Enjoy some sweets and your loved ones tomorrow on Valentine’s day!
Love, Samantha & Dean
Stay tuned for “Day of Dean” photos. I wanted to document Dean’s day-to-day routine before his baby brother arrived. I got the idea from this other photographer who did an amazing job. I just finished editing mine so I should have a preview up soon and then I am going to do another one when Baby Lyle is born. So much to look forward to in the coming months.
NEW Samantha H. photo editing service.
Posted on February 10, 2012
Hi everyone,
Let me tell you how this new service came to be… I have had this happen a few times in the past from other clients but this Christmas when a good friend/client from NC asked if I could help edit her Christmas photos for her, the idea came to me! I wasn’t able to be in NC since I now live in Arizona and so she took the photos and emailed them to me. I jazzed them up in Photoshop and she printed the photos of her daughter to give to grandparents for Christmas. Because of the Army life I live I am not able to be everywhere I would like to be taking photos. We have to move every couple of years sometimes less in the case of Arizona (we won’t even be here a year). This makes it difficult to build a client base when you can’t stay for too long.
I have a lot of great clients in Minnesota (where I’m originally from) but now with Baby # 2 on the way travel is becoming more…let’s just say…interesting. Anyways, this is how the idea of the Samantha H. photo editing service was born in attempt at making your home photos look professional. One, I can do this from anywhere in the country and two, this could save time and money as you don’t need to pay for a photo session. Clearly, if I’m your area and you would like to schedule a photo session I would love to hear from you. Unfortunately, I am most likely not in your area. So please pass this information on to anyone you think may be interested. Scroll down to see more information/pricing for these services and also some examples from other clients. If you have any questions, please email me at samanthahphotos@yahoo.com.
I will be in Minnesota in June to photograph a wedding and I am available for family sessions as well. I have already talked with some of you and I will be in contact soon to schedule specific dates & times.
Also, check out my Etsy photo editing service page at http://www.etsy.com/shop/samanthahphotos09?ref=seller_info to purchase or scroll down on this main page to find my Paypal link for the editing service. Checks can also be sent in the mail for larger orders. Paypal is the preferred method of payment.
Thanks so much!
Samantha
Thanks to my friend & graphic designer, Kate, for taking the time to do this for me. Visit Kate’s graphic design website if you are interested in having her design something for you. See the links at the bottom of the page for her site.

Hi everyone!
These are my favorite photos of 2011! Please click the movie above to view in a larger screen. For best photo quality please view in medium zoom not full screen. 2011 has been another great year for Samantha H. and we are excited for all that 2012 will bring. Samantha H’s 3rd year…here we come! I am not always available when people need me since I live across the country but I am so happy for the photos I was able to take this year! I am excited for our Minnesota Summer 2012 trip after we have baby #2! Please email for more information if you are interested in a session. I look forward to seeing all of you and for the eventful year ahead.
Enjoy your weekend! Samantha
Sidenote: Happy 18 months (1.5 years old!) to our sweet son, Dean!
our family.

I love these two photos above! Dean wasn’t into them but they still turned out well! These are some of the photos for our Christmas cards. I still have to take some creative photos of the two dog children. I’m sure one day when Dean’s older we will look back at these photos and laugh. Every stage is worth remembering.
Enjoy this pre-holiday time,
Samantha
Farewell North Carolina!

Hello everyone,
I just thought I would post one more blog entry before the movers come to get our stuff and the Internet is turned off ( I still have the trusty iPhone to check emails). We will be leaving this weekend and may never be back in Fayetteville. We are ready to leave though and go on a new journey but it’s also going to be a lot of change. I started my photography business here back in 2009 and more importantly we started our family here when our son was born in 2010. This town will always hold a place in my heart but it wont be because of Fayetteville itself but because of all the people and memories we made here. Thank you to all my awesome clients who continued to come back to me through the years. I was so happy to photograph your growing families!
Enjoy your weekend and please keep in touch, Samantha

6 kids and a doberman: family session
Posted on September 13, 2011
Hello and happy Tuesday!
I arrived over to their house right after dinner time and first we hung out by the pool taking casual photos. I was happy for this time to get to know all 8 of them plus, Jackson, their Doberman Pinscher. I loved the relaxed beginning to our session and then they changed into their photo outfits. They each picked something comfortable to wear and I LOVED all the bright colors they chose. Everything just worked together and the lighting was just bright & perfect! I have become accustom to chasing my 1 year old son around for photos and this was truly a breath of fresh air. They were such a cooperative group and I hope they enjoy these photos as much as I do. This was a unique session that will stand out in my mind for years to come.
Enjoy the photos and your Tuesday,
Samantha

look at their bright colors pop! I loved all their different personalities. sidenote: Kelsey wasn't in some of these because she was pushed in the pool!

Happy Friday and welcome to the world baby Miles!

I love both of these photos so much! I enjoy the bottom one where Raleigh is just trying to get up on the bed!
the “S” family: family session
Posted on September 7, 2011
I have taken their photos for two years now, this was our 4th & final (before our Arizona move) session. We went to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville and we had such a fun time exploring around the garden. They had renovated the garden since I had last been and it was just gorgeous. Please click the links below to see past family photos and homecoming photos. This photo session marks another deployment and I am so glad I was able to capture these photos for them.
Thank you so much for trusting me to photograph such important moments in your family life.
Enjoy, Samantha
