tiffany & gavin: engagement session

Posted on August 1, 2011

Here is a good story for you! I met this lovely lady on a connection flight back from Atlanta to Fayetteville. We happened to sit by each other and start chatting while Dean (then 9 months old) was all over the place! I found out that Tiffany was also from good ol’ Minnesota (what a small world) and her soldier who was also from Minnesota and stationed in Fort Bragg like my husband, had just asked her to marry him!! I told Tiffany I was a photographer and we exchanged information.

Then about 5 months later I find myself driving down with the family to Myrtle Beach, SC to take engagement photos for them. She is now living and working as a nurse down here. So as I complete my how small the world is speech, please enjoy this photos of a couple so in love! One more thing I am SO excited to take their wedding photos in 2012 back in the Minnesota homeland. Happy Monday! More previews to come soon.

Enjoy, Samantha

I know I haven’t posted in a little while. July has just flown by (as Summer always does) and I have been meaning to post photos for awhile now.

Natalie + Kevin = married!!!

Posted on June 17, 2011

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been to plenty of weddings in my day and this one really stood out to me. I kept thinking to myself throughout the wedding, you can really see and feel the love, it was palpable. I am always secretly shedding some tears behind the lens during all weddings but this one was amazing! Every detail was planned out to the T, in a world of cookie cutter weddings, this unique & thoughtful wedding was a breath of fresh air. From the setting at Madden’s resort in Brainerd, Minnesota where guests could stay all weekend long, to the hand-made welcome bags, the ceremony and all of the love felt from the bride and groom as well as their families was truly inspiring. Enough of my thoughts on this beautiful wedding, on to the photo preview!

I took engagement photos of Natalie and Kevin earlier this year in Washington, DC, please click the link to check them out!

Enjoy your weekend and these photos,

Samantha

the “L” family session!

Posted on June 5, 2011

Hi everyone!

I told you the second preview was coming today! I could look at these photos again and again. I love everything about them and I hope they do as well. I took their maternity photos back in 2009 when Lilah was still in her mama’s tummy. Now she is expecting a baby boy in September and I couldn’t be happier for this growing family. So good seeing everyone again and meeting Lilah finally!

Thanks & enjoy, Samantha

My favorite photos from the whole session. We were asking Lilah where Mommy's belly is and she kept showing us her belly! Adorable little lady!

Lilah will be such a good big sister to her baby brother in the Fall! Good luck and congrats again to your family!

the “G” family session!

Posted on June 5, 2011

Good morning!

I’ve been editing thousands and thousands of photos from my family sessions and wedding from Minnesota last week. I wanted to get this preview up as soon as I could because I love love how the photos turned out. I have another family preview that I will post this afternoon and the other couple of sessions will have to wait until this week. I was happy to photograph this family again since the last time I saw them was back in 2009 when I first started my business. Check out little Carson and his sweet blue eyes!

Enjoy your Sunday, Samantha

I love the photo of him on the right!

sidenote: I edit all photos in Adobe Lightroom and I put a twist/ play with photos (basically different coloring & editing). I will include all the “twist” photos on the disc as well as regular colored copies for printing! I think some of them with a twist are fun to print as well. Just thought I would mention that as I continue to post on the blog.

reunited: military homecoming

Posted on May 22, 2011

Good morning to you all!

Here is a sweet family that after 17 months was reunited on Thursday! The husband and wife were reunited first at the airport as you can see in the first photo. Then they picked up their daughter which can be seen in this ABC 11 news story, click this link to view their video. Then the son was picked up from school and was surprised by his Dad at the park. The son’s reaction was so sweet as he ran across the park to hug his Dad, as seen in the middle photo below. Then the last photo is of a family reunited, they all look so happy & complete! I’m very happy for this wonderfully strong family. Hope they’ve had a good weekend back together again! I have many more photos of this reunion but I just wanted to give a quick preview before I head to the homeland of Minnesota tomorrow!

Enjoy your Sunday,

Samantha

a family of three…

Posted on May 20, 2011

…about to be a family of four! This sweet little family has a lot of changes going on, expecting their second son at the end of July, the first son will be 2 years old in July and the husband/dad is leaving for a year long deployment. That being said, they wanted to get some photos of all of them together before he goes overseas and I hope these photos make them smile over the coming months.

Enjoy this preview and of course your weekend! Samantha

P.S. See you Monday, Minnesota!!!

Good Saturday evening to you!

We took a family adventure on up to Washington D.C. this past weekend. Both Mike and I had been there but not toured the city completely. Besides the museums, we saw every monument/memorial there is to see. Thanks to our awesome tour guides (thanks again!) Natalie and Kevin.

We walked, talked and snapped some beautiful photos of this engaged couple. I love all of these photos of them and the background of D.C. What a great place to be. We had such a eventful/unforgettable trip. Photos to come of Dean goes to Washington (we got some good ones of him too!)

I look forward to taking your wedding photos in May in good ol’ Minnesota! Here is a little (a lot) from our all day session! Enjoy, Samantha
