reunited: military homecoming
Posted on May 22, 2011
Good morning to you all!
Here is a sweet family that after 17 months was reunited on Thursday! The husband and wife were reunited first at the airport as you can see in the first photo. Then they picked up their daughter which can be seen in this ABC 11 news story, click this link to view their video. Then the son was picked up from school and was surprised by his Dad at the park. The son’s reaction was so sweet as he ran across the park to hug his Dad, as seen in the middle photo below. Then the last photo is of a family reunited, they all look so happy & complete! I’m very happy for this wonderfully strong family. Hope they’ve had a good weekend back together again! I have many more photos of this reunion but I just wanted to give a quick preview before I head to the homeland of Minnesota tomorrow!
Enjoy your Sunday,
a family of three…

…about to be a family of four! This sweet little family has a lot of changes going on, expecting their second son at the end of July, the first son will be 2 years old in July and the husband/dad is leaving for a year long deployment. That being said, they wanted to get some photos of all of them together before he goes overseas and I hope these photos make them smile over the coming months.
Enjoy this preview and of course your weekend! Samantha
P.S. See you Monday, Minnesota!!!

The Smith’s: Final Military Homecoming
Posted on August 8, 2010
Quick backstory on these photos: I have photographed this family three times this last year (thank you for letting me be apart of everything). First session, last August before he deployed at their home, click here to see. Then again in February for his mid-tour leave, click here to see. Their son was only 6 months old in the first set of photos now 18 months old, it was very nice seeing everyone reunited. I hope you love these photos as much as I do, so much excitement, emotion and laughter! I am so happy for all of them! Enjoy, Samantha
I love love the photo below on the right with the soldiers in the background!

Pre-Deployment Army Ceremony

I took these photos for a friend’s unit about to deploy. The ceremony is called “casing of the colors” to read more about this ceremony, please click this link. I took over 400 photos and these are just some of the ones I personally enjoy! Hope you are having a nice week. Enjoy the photos and your weekend, Samantha
Flags of Fayetteville.

If you get a chance to stop by the Airborne and Special Ops Museum in Downtown Fayetteville, you will find rows and rows of beautiful flags so go check out if you can. Especially fun for little kids to run through the rows and they make for very nice photos as well (see below a B&W photo of my friend’s daughter, Eve, enjoying the flags). More importantly, it’s a nice time to reflect on what Memorial Day is really all about. Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy, Samantha
Welcome Home, Hans! Military Homecoming
Posted on April 16, 2010
Good afternoon!
I wanted to share with you these wonderful homecoming photos! We had to be very patient as the soldier’s got off the plane but it was well worth these photos of their first hug in months and months. I felt like I was at a wedding and I didn’t want to miss the big moment. I have done these types of sessions before but there were a lot more people at this one. I was tearing up behind my camera because this was such a beautiful and authentic moment. I love all of the photos and I hope you do as well. Have an awesome weekend. Enjoy, Samantha

I just couldn't resist showing them in B&W too!
