the “R” family

Posted on March 18, 2012

Hello!

I am so excited to share these photos of this amazing family and tell you the backstory on how I met the mom/grandma, Sherri. I had just moved to Arizona and was watching the local news channel last October when Sherri came on telling her cancer story and the creation of the cancer non-profit, Bag It! I was so intrigued by her that I wrote down her email from the news story and we have been in contact ever since.

I had been wanting to volunteer with a cancer organization and donate my time/photography. I had been in contact with the American Cancer Society and once I found Sherri I knew Bag It would be a better fit for me as they are a smaller organization. I wanted to take photos of her and her family to celebrate her as a mother and grandmother to three.

Please enjoy the photos below and check out Bag It!’s website for more information please click the link:

These photos were taken in Tucson at Tohono Chul Park and if you live in this area you need to visit. They have a lot of trails to roam around with the kids and beautiful scenery of mountains, flowers, plants & trees of all kinds.

Meet Sherri, her husband and her grandkids :)

Santa Claws Photo Event

Posted on December 18, 2011

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is the last day for the Santa photos available at Petsmart. I volunteered last weekend to take photos for this event and wanted to spread the word. In Sierra Vista, they are donating the cost of the photos to the local humane society to support their programs. Please bring your pet tomorrow (Sunday the 18th) between 11 and 4 for the last day of photos. Donate to a great cause and also get a nice family photo. A win-win!

Please go to www.petsmart.com and scroll down to the bottom left to the Santa Claws Photo Event. Click the Event link and then it will search for a Santa Claws location near you.

Thanks for your help! Enjoy the upcoming holidays, Samantha

Here is a sweet dog from last weekend.

Jingle Bell Jog 2010

Posted on December 14, 2010

I was the event photographer for theĀ  32nd Annual Jingle Bell Jog in Downtown Fayetteville. There were 600 + runners doing 5K’s and 10K’s. I was very grateful to have my logo on their banner and t-shirt (see below). I also gave away a family photo session in their raffle and I am looking forward to meeting the family and photographing them.
Enjoy, Samantha
