Stay tuned for “Day of Dean” photos. I wanted to document Dean’s day-to-day routine before his baby brother arrived. I got the idea from this other photographer who did an amazing job. I just finished editing mine so I should have a preview up soon and then I am going to do another one when Baby Lyle is born. So much to look forward to in the coming months.

Let me tell you how this new service came to be… I have had this happen a few times in the past from other clients but this Christmas when a good friend/client from NC asked if I could help edit her Christmas photos for her, the idea came to me! I wasn’t able to be in NC since I now live in Arizona and so she took the photos and emailed them to me. I jazzed them up in Photoshop and she printed the photos of her daughter to give to grandparents for Christmas. Because of the Army life I live I am not able to be everywhere I would like to be taking photos. We have to move every couple of years sometimes less in the case of Arizona (we won’t even be here a year). This makes it difficult to build a client base when you can’t stay for too long.

I have a lot of great clients in Minnesota (where I’m originally from) but now with Baby # 2 on the way travel is becoming more…let’s just say…interesting. Anyways, this is how the idea of the Samantha H. photo editing service was born in attempt at making your home photos look professional. One, I can do this from anywhere in the country and two, this could save time and money as you don’t need to pay for a photo session. Clearly, if I’m your area and you would like to schedule a photo session I would love to hear from you. Unfortunately, I am most likely not in your area. I will be in Minnesota in June to photograph a wedding and I am available for family sessions as well. I have already talked with some of you and I will be in contact soon to schedule specific dates & times.

We took these photos last week and I wanted to share a little Valentine’s day preview with you. I will share the rest of them on Valentine’s day. Dean had a couple suckers and a box of chocolates which resulted in some entertaining faces, to say the least. I love this set of photos below, my little character! We made little Valentine’s day cards out of these photos to send to family and friends. I just couldn’t resist sharing these photos anymore.

He loves his Mater truck!

We visited our family in Reno for Christmas this year. We thought we should visit family on this side of the country since we are living in Arizona. Mike, Dean & I took a day trip to Lake Tahoe (saw a little bit of California) and then back to Nevada we went. We had an overall awesome visit but this day was a perfect day. The weather was beautiful, no snow for this time of year here is rare so we took advantage of it and explored. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Dean loves his Gracie (Gratchie as he calls her). I love his relationship with his dog sisters.

Click the 9 month old boy! photos & 12 month old boy! photos to see over the last year. In some ways time does fly by faster when you have kids and in some ways having children makes you slow down to appreciate the small details. Life becomes more full and colorful with children. I was one happy mama/photographer when he looked right at the camera and gave me a cheesy smile.

We still can’t believe he is 1.5 years old. My husband and I were talking about how it feels like just yesterday he was born. And now he is a little man. Appreciate your children & family this holiday season.
